Abstract
This study investigates the ontological, liturgical, and juridical dimensions of prayer (ṣalāt/tefillah/namāz) across Islamic heritage, Rabbinic Judaism, and Zoroastrianism, while directly addressing contemporary reductionist challenges posed by the anti Hadith Quranist (Qur'āniyyūn) movement. Grounded in a comprehensive synthesis of recent scholarly research, philological evidence, and primary textual archives, the article demonstrates that Islamic ṣalāt represents the pinnacle of Near Eastern devotional continuity, harmonizing unyielding monotheistic focus (tawḥīd) with universal accessibility. Through a comparative examination of liturgical structures, the investigation contrasts the Islamic jurisprudential paradigm of customary capacity (qudra 'urfiyya) and legal ease (yusr) against the hyper complex, rigid ritual obligations (qudra 'aqliyya) characteristic of Rabbinic Halakha. Furthermore, by reconstructing the pedagogical evolution of prayer through the chronological sequence of Quranic revelation (sīr al nuzūl), this research reveals how the Quran systematically institutionalized ṣalāt from individual spiritual purification (tazkiya) in the Meccan period to community building, legal governance, and social solidarity in Medina. Finally, the paper provides a rigorous refutation of Quranist hermeneutics, proving that stripping ṣalāt of its prophetic praxis (Sunnah) invalidates its historical continuity, textual coherence, and community performance. Ultimately, the article establishes that recovering the authentic heritage of ṣalāt offers a vital intellectual and spiritual framework for resolving modern existential alienation and interfaith misunderstandings
